Announcing Spectra SDR Support for Spectrum Signal Processing’s SDR-4000
PrismTech is pleased to announce the forthcoming release of its Spectra SDR product suite for use with Spectrum Signal Processing’s SDR-4000 radio hardware platform. The Spectra product suite will be available for both existing and new SDR-4000 users allowing them to take advantage of PrismTech’s high performance, low overhead, Software Communications Architecture (SCA) 2.2.2 implementation. The release will provide a fully integrated package of COTS tools (Spectra CX), middleware (Spectra ORB for GPP and DSP, Spectra ICO for FPGA), core framework (Spectra CF) and basic SCA radio platform (services and devices).

PrismTech has released the latest versions of its market leading Spectra ORB middleware and Spectra CX tools:
- Spectra ORB v2.0.2, the first compliant implementation of the SCA 4.0 Full and Lightweight CORBA Profiles
- Spectra CX v3.5.4, a model-driven development tool that simplifies, accelerates, and validates a significant proportion of the Software Communications Architecture (SCA) development process.

Wireless Innovation Forum and PrismTech Announce New SDR Training Series – EMEA
PrismTech is pleased to be partnering with the Wireless Innovation Forum to deliver an online SDR / SCA training course. The course titled “SDR / SCA Development for Software Engineers” will be delivered by PrismTech’s Senior SDR Training instructor. The European course will commence the week of 19th May. The 3 week, 12 session course will introduce attendees to SDR / SCA and CORBA middleware and then progress to advanced SDR / SCA programming focused on developing SCA applications and platform services.
The training course will be delivered online using the latest cloud based teaching techniques allowing attendees to benefit from the expertise of leading SDR / SCA experts without leaving their desk.

PrismTech’s CTO, and leading SDR expert, Dr. Vince Kovarik continues to deliver pioneering and innovative SDR research. Two presentations summarizing some of his recent work are now available to view from PrismTech’s slideshare site at www.slideshare.net/PrismTech1.
The first presentation, Integrated Communications Systems Modeling: A model-Based Engineering Approach, describes the current work being performed on the Wireless Innovation Forum’s Integrated Communications Systems Model (ICSM) project, chaired by Vince Kovarik.
The second presentation, Reflective Language for Communication Systems, presents independent research in the area of hybrid programming languages incorporating traditional object-oriented capabilities integrated with knowledge representation and reasoning enabling the ability for a communications system to introspect its physical and logical structure. The long-term vision of this work is to provide the ability to represent relationships and events as first-class objects in the system thereby providing context and heuristic capabilities.
